POTE FOUNDATION'S ACTIVITIES

September 2013
As POTE approaches the end of its 6th year of providing educational opportunity to Connecticut youth, we mark the enrollment of over 100 K and Pre-K youth in our free violin program and the passing of the $100,000 mark in financial assistance for several youth programs that include water safety, math, science, technology and cultural activities.
July 2013
POTE provides $10,000 grant to The Bushnell's PARTNERS program. The nationally recognized award-winning arts-in-education program uses the arts to teach core curriculum, build literacy skills and increase intercultural competencies. The grant marks the first year of what is expected to be a several year commitment from POTE.
June 2013
Enthusiastic golfers participate in POTE Cup tournament at Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Rhode Island to generate funds for POTE programs - this marks the fifth tournament that has provided support for youth programs.
May 2013
POTE completes violin program for 2012-13 school year - 20 kindergarten and 18 Pre-K students complete the program. In an effort to support Hartford area youth, POTE commits $10,000 grant to The Bushnell PARTNERS Program for the 2013-2014 program year.

With the 5th anniversary of POTE behind us, early childhood programs are being actively developed, including the continuation of the early childhood violin program for Pre-K and kindergarten youth. Fundraising activity through The POTE Cup golf tournament will be conducted in June - after a one year break.
2012
December 2012
POTE meets fundraising goals and maintains IRS public charity status for the next four years. Additionally, in accordance with its mission statement, POTE provided $34,000 in funding for various youth educational programs during 2012.
September 2012
All recent Pre-K POTE graduates continue violin studies in 2012-2013 Kindergarten program - marks the beginning of the fifth year of the POTE funded early childhood music appreciation effort in the Town of Windsor Locks.

Police Activity League of Waterbury, Inc. (PAL) enrolls 565 City youth - ages 4 to 18 in the POTE funded free safety swimming program known as Safe Water Information Movement (SWIM).
April 2012
POTE provides $5,000 grant to Hartford Conservatory - musical instrument
maintenance, repair and acquisition.
Police Activity League of Waterbury, Inc. awarded $20,000 for the free safety swimming
program known as Safe Water Information Movement (SWIM). To date, POTE has
provided 117% of funds received from consulting services rendered to the Waterbury
Bureau of Water to fund youth education programs.
